A vibratory plow is an attachment that cuts a slit in the ground as it lays a small-diameter utility cable or pipe1. The oscillation of the blade makes the excavation faster and more efficient than a static blade1. Vibratory plows create very narrow trenches that do significantly less damage to the ground, and they pull piping, wiring, lines, and more through an initial incision and maneuver it through the ground, limiting the damage to the turf, grass, and soil2. Vibratory plows are designed to be used by trained operators primarily for routing irrigation and utility lines underground without having to dig a trench for the entire length of the pipe or cable3.
